So, we started out the month of December just right with a trip down to Cedar City for Tori's baptism! She is the first cousin to get baptized! What a wonderful example she was to all the family! Her example opened up a great opportunity for us to talk to Emilie a little more about baptism. For Emilie to be able to watch Tori's baptism really opened up the door of understanding for her! Thank you Tori, for your wonderful example, and especially for letting all your family share in the experience!
Justin has been crazy busy with year 3 of Medical School. He was able to get Saturday off from his surgery rotation for Tori's baptism. So instead of all of us driving down 4 hours and back 4 hours in one day, me and the girls drove down on Thursday, and we flew Justin into the little Cedar City airport! It was cool to see the airplane roll to a stop right outside the window where we were sitting. Justin waved to us from his little window in the airplane. And we got to watch him get off the airplane. Little airports can be a lot of fun! Anyways, it made his time (and our time with him) a lot more worthwhile!
Dec. 6, 2010 Emilie, Kimmerle, and I went to Peighla's birthday party. Aunt Dye let us pick her birthday cake. Of course we got Tinkerbell- since little Peighla has a two year old obsession with Tink. She calls her "Twinker Bell"- it is so cute!
Dec. 7, 2010 Emilie's Joy School class went to a nearby Assisted Living Home, and put on the Nativity story for the residents. They did such a good job, and the residents there just loved them. At Joy School the week before, the children colored pictures to hand out to the residents. There a man off to side and back who kept reaching for a picture from the children. Sweet Em saw that he wanted one, and brought one over. They also sang some carols that they'd been learning at Joy School. Anyways, these three year olds are very impressive! They did a great job performing, and none of them were scared or nervous around the residents!
Of course, one of our favorite past times (and current, for that matter) is going to the Discovery Gateway Children's museum. It's extra fun when we get our cousins to come with us!

Big THANK YOU to Grandma Chandler!! Grandma came down for the weekend of our anniversary, allowing us to getaway and really celebrate 6 successful and awesome years of marriage! So while Grandma, Emilie, and Kimmerle were home having a blast, Justin and I had a great time at the Melting Pot, the Planetarium, and the 3-D movie theater (to see Tron). As if that wasn't enough, we took off to Manti, UT where we stayed at an awesome Bed and Breakfast. We went to a session at the Manti Temple! It was so sweet to be back where our family first started. After the session was over we asked the Temple President if we could see the Tower Room where we were sealed. Him and his wife were more than awesome, and took us up to our sealing room. They also showed us some other pretty special rooms in the Temple on the way. Two of my Great(s) Grandfathers were Temple Presidents of the Manti Temple. It was pretty cool to see their pictures on a Temple wall, as well as their spouses! Well, I could just go on about this forever. Basically we had a great anniversary, and are very grateful to Grandma Chandler for making it happen for us!
Dec. 21, 2010 Celebrating Kimmerle's First Birthday! It is so fun looking at the pictures and recognizing all the joys along with the woes of a baby's first birthday. I'm pretty sure that the presents were her favorite part. And I'm sure we all would like to forget about the cake... Kimmerle was very interested in her presents though. She was a champ at unwrapping them. I was a little bit shocked at how well she stayed focused on unwrapping her gifts! Smart little thing
Dec. 21, 2010 Justin's 29th Birthday! Wow! December sure is full of celebrations for our family! I made Justin a sugar cookie fruit cake. As for presents, all he got was bullets for his two guns and a trip to the shooting range with his brother Jeff. I tell you what, bullets are expensive! Happy 29 Justin! Ugg, 30 in one more year- that is so weird! hahaha
One of the few perks of being in Medical School with the student status, is that Justin still gets Christmas break! He had two weeks off that we stuffed with alot of fun, including (but not limited to) our anniversary, Special K's and his birthdays, and an exciting trip to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. I love places like this because it is just as awesome for the adults as it is for the kids! Since this trip, Emilie has had a healthy obsession with dinosaurs. More specifically dinosaur bones. A few days ago she explained to me how she had bones, like dinosaur bones- and then she added that dinosaurs like to eat her bones. Like I said, a "healthy" obsession. :)
Emilie also got to sit through her first ever 3-D movie at the Dinosaur Museum. Special K didn't make it through much and Dad took her out. But Emilie and I sat through it and we grabbed at the dinosaurs and objects that looked so close. I love my three year old- she would "ooh" and "aw" at just the right time. She is such a cool little girl!!
